And We're (Finally) Here!

Today is the long awaited day. Finally we headed on our way to Colorado. We left the school and arrived at the airport with no problems. Our plane was on time and things were going good, only one brief hitch at security - Red Robins seasoning does not get through security well. Unfortunately, right before we were about to board our flight did get delayed. Colorado is currently being slammed with snow. Denver is covered in a nice layer of powder and roads have begun to close down. Finally we take off around 3:30, an hour and half later than planned.
Waiting wasn’t all that bad. We easily passed the time waiting in the airport. We got some food (and coffee of course), played some uno, took some pics, and, oh ya, Lexi and I knitted scarfs! Trust me when I say, you get some weird looks arm knitting in the middle of an airport but it was so worth it. We now have snazzy new scarfs to wear in the Colorado single digit weather.

Arriving in Denver we were greeted by a white, snow covered city. The view from the plane was spectacular. We navigated our way through the HUGE airport and finally found our way to the rental car place. We waited for over an hour only to find out that all the vans got stuck in the mountains. So they drove our driver to another company and finally we were rewarded with a ginormous, fifteen passenger van - a van, I might add, that has no chains or studded tires. Good thing we have an excellent driver! Because of the delay and road closures due to the snow, we have decided to stay in Denver (Aurora to be exact) at a Comfort Inn. Tomorrow we will access our situation and see where we go from there, the wolves, unfortunately, just may have to wait a few days.
After a long day of traveling, it's time to turn in. Goodnight, until next time.
